Hollowpoint
Hollowpoint is a pick up and play rpg inspired by every ultraviolent movie you have ever seen.
If you like the ideas behind Sin City, Wanted or 100 Bullets, this is your game.
This is the home page
Here are the character sheets. Cool huh?

Re: Hollowpoint
That is what I thought too. There is a guy on rpg.net who is going to run a game set in the Syndicate setting from the video game.

Re: Hollowpoint
Sure the thread is pretty long (it is a discussion with the writers.) One of the fans (Mook) is the dude setting up the Syndicate game, I have got my spot. I loved Syndicate Wars. Btw, My copy should turn up early next week.

Re: Hollowpoint
Got it, man it uses a lot of d6s. It looks like a fun game.
Character creation is really quick and easy, perfect for a single session game.
I had a cool idea for a game setting too;
You are all Adepts of the Order.
As Adepts your characters are masters of the wheel of life and death. They remember all of their previous lives and retain the knowledge and skills from those lives.
All of the Adepts practice esoteric meditative disciplines that allow them to manipulate their karmic threads and bend probability in their favour.

Re: Hollowpoint
I had another setting idea.
The corporations own the world,
AIs own the corporations.
Humanity is merely a cog in the machine,
But not you.
You are ronin, rogue agents with military grade cybernetic systems and training. When the corporations need deniable assets that can perform the impossible, they hire ronin.
The world has changed, everyday users access the net through an AR interface known as the face.
Below in the depths amongst the foundation code and reaver programs, hackers, and ronin skulk between corporate domains where the AIs power is absolute.

Re: Hollowpoint
After playing this the other day i think this system would be great for a superhero game, it just needs a few little changes, instead of trying to kill your character off you go into anger/power modes instead of getting killed. In different anger modes you will get new powers or more powerful or what ever this as far as i can think would be almost similar to creating a new character. Also because super heroes don't like teaming up the same dice pool rules would apply. i have added 3 more slots for powers.
so a character sheet would be
================================================================
Name:
================================================================
age: sex: race: weight: height:
kill: take: cool: dig: con: terror:
=================================================================
( )1:
( )2:
( )3:
( )4:
( )5:
=================================================================
powers
1-
2-
3-
=================================================================
Effects.
what do you think

Re: Hollowpoint
I had a similar idea, with a team of supervillans "rehabilitated" by the UN for black ops.
But I came to the conclusion that the rules are so basic the actual powers don't need extra rules.
Say if you had electrokinetic powers for example, DIG would represent you using them to hack the FBI database, KILL would be frying someone with electricity, TERROR would be the character freaking everyone out with huge arcs of crackling electricity, etc.
Consider that special forces and other specialists only have 1 or 2 in their field of expertise, agents have enough awesome to cover cool powers, it is the desired end result that determines which skill will cover the chosen application of the power.

Re: Hollowpoint
yeah i did not really mena more rules i just thought there might be some power desided abo at the start of the game not real extra rules would be needed as you say.
Re: Hollowpoint
For sure since they are mostly flavour the powers could be off the wall.

Re: Hollowpoint
I have been thinking about what you said about having slots for the powers. If we replace
the normal 5 traits with powersurges. Basically you can overcharge your powers to give you 2 extra dice and an excuse to describe how cool your character is when his powers are turned up to a hundred and he is almost consumed by them
