To Sword Dancer's finely honed Kai senses the area tells a story. You can see several marks that indicate a scuffle; there are tell-tale splashes of blood on the ground.DylanBL wrote:Sword Dancer uses his sixth sense while searching the scene
A few pieces of torn canvas and broken wood lead off in a North-Easterly direction to a copse of trees that line the side of the road. You spot a couple of bolts at the roadside, these wicked dark barbs can only be from a Giak's crossbow.

Scanning the area True Shield is suddenly aware of a sound to his right, a flash of red in the undergrowth and a small muzzle that pokes out inquisitively. You can see it is a red fox, cowering in the bushes and watching you with fear filled eyes.

Moon Fire
A shadow moves off to the North East, briefly as it passes through the trees you can see that it is a Giak, the creature does not seem to have spotted you and vanishes from sight.

"Naar's Teeth!" Moon Fire hisses venomously and rapidly strings her bow. Notching an arrow she moves to take better cover behind a tree and mentally approximates the giak's position from her last view of it. If it's a scout then it'll have to be killed before raising the alarm!

Locking eyes with the fox you are able to link with it on an empathic level. It regards you warily; however, you sense that it understands your intentions. As you remain in contact with the fox, you get images of large monsters, all claws and teeth with dark skin and glowing eyes.
They trample through the fox's domain and head off to the North East growling and snarling.
The fox does not recognize them but you do. They are Giaks, servants of the foul Darklords.

Sword Dancer draws his Sword while warning those around him of the Giak bolts.
Sword Dancer then carefully runs to the copse of trees to the North East

Sun Star, Sword Dancer, Rune Heart and True Shield skulk through the trees of the copse, weapons ready and senses straining.
[OOC: Give me another roll guys. Moon Heart, are you hanging back behind the tree or following a little behind to cover the others? Roll again if you are sneaking after them.]

All of you
Sneaking through the trees you suddenly catch sight of several small humanoids rifling the dead and picking through the broken remains of the caravan. They have several backpacks full of goods taken from the merchants wagon.
The rotted log beneath True Shield's foot breaks as he shifts his weight, the rest of the branches connected to the log crash down through the ferns and bracken.
The Giak's heads whip up revealing cruel faces and beady eyes, two of them draw their weapons, whilst the others gather as much of their ill-gotten gains as possible. The two of them cautiously make their way to True Shields position grinning maliciously.

Re: [Lone Wolf IC Thread] The Merchant's Tale
Moon Fire follows behind the Kai vanguard at a distance so her less stealthy movements do not give them away, scanning the trees on either side of them to ensure that they are not surprised from the sides. She has an arrow notched but not drawn, she moves opposite to Sun Star's flanking position to assist the group with a better field of fire.

The furtherest Giak is almost at the treeline when you mindblast him. The bag of loot drops from his hands as he staggers to his knees howling and clutching his head in pain.
